Light roasts will be more acidic and less bitter. They are best suited to drip / black coffee and may take you by surprise. Medium roasts will be well balanced and a safe option for someone who is not sure what to buy. Dark roasts will be less acidic, more bitter and best suited to espresso or milk based drinks. Freshly roasted to order
Our coffee is ALWAYS roasted to order. We keep nothing sitting on the shelves. This does mean that when the coffee arrives with you, it is likely still in its development phase. It allows you to control the resting period however you desire. The coffee will expire in 12 months, but ideally, we want you to finish it within 3 months of ordering to have the best possible coffee experience!
Keeping your coffee fresh
What is the ideal rest time?
In our opinion, there is no ideal rest time. Taste is subjective and we believe that nothing is truly set in stone. Do what works best for you and what you enjoy most. As a general rule of thumb, try to rest between 5 to 14 days and adjust from there.
Pre-ground coffee
We do offer pre-ground coffee, however, we must insist that it is best to order beans. Once coffee is ground, it begins to oxidize and lose its flavor rapidly. The size of the grind also plays a crucial role in how the coffee extracts, directly impacting the taste of your brew. To ensure the best quality and freshness, we exclusively ship freshly roasted whole beans. You can learn more in our blog post, and if you’re interested, visit our equipment page to explore our selection of grinders.
